THE HARLEM RENAISSANCE

Why was the Harlem Renaissance such a remarkable/memorable period in history?
The Harlem Renaissance, essentially meaning rebirth of Harlem, symbolizes the many social advancements of Black Culture influencing many places throughout the United States of America in the 1920's and 1930's. The Harlem Renaissance, which originated in New York City, has changed the universal perspective on American Culture tremendously, and for good. During this time, there were amazing developments in all kinds of culture; there were advancements in American Literature, Jazz Music, and in Natural Art as well. The Harlem Renaissance represents the birth of modern culture, the beginning of the prevalent social era, and the explosion of both art, and political reforms that coincided.
